The rail freight operator FELB (Far East Land Bridge) has appointed Uwe Leuschner as its new CEO. Leuschner will concentrate on the strategical alignments of FELB Group, Business Development and International Relations. He previously worked as the senior vice president, business development Eurasia at DB Cargo and has more than two decades of experience in the logistics industry.

 

“I am really glad that Uwe Leuschner joins our management board. With him we gain a comprehensive knowledge and expertise on the Eurasian logistic market. His strategic competence provides us perfectly to accelerate growth, move ahead expansions and will strengthen our international network”, said Vyacheslav Saraev, CEO of RZD Business Asset, to which FELB belongs.

An expert when it comes to rail transport between Europe and Asia, Leuschner will lead the development of the FELB Group in Europe, Russia and Asia. His aim is to unify and strengthen FELB sites, and to create a profitable railway operator with an efficient and powerful organisational structure.

About Uwe Leuschner

Leuschner has over 25 years of logistics experience. In addition to his position at DB Cargo, he was also the managing director of DB Cargo Eurasia. Furthermore, he was the head of DB Cargo Russia in Moscow.

Between 2009 and 2021 Leuschner worked for DB Group. Since 1996 Leuschner has been active in the logistics market in Russia and lived in Moscow for more than ten years and later in China. As Director General of REWICO AG, FIEGE Russia AG and DB Schenker Russia, he has acquired tremendous experience in development of the Russian market.

The native-born German studied foreign economics at the University of Economics in Prague and completed his postgraduate studies in the USA and Canada. Next to German he speaks Russian, English and Czech and is a member of several national and international business associations.
