Below you will find the Ninth IRG-Rail Market Monitoring Report. This Report covers the year 2019 and the first semester of 2020. It includes data from 30 European countries. The instalment at hand of this annually published report includes a special emphasis on the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on the European railway market during the first half of 2020.

The Ninth Annual Market Monitoring report is presented in two documents: the Main Report which presents overall results at the European level, and the Working Document, which provides country specific details. A dataset used to build graphics is also provided.

Main findings of the annual data collection cover the following areas:

- network characteristics and track access charges

- railway undertakings and European traffic

- freight and passenger markets

- COVID-19 crisis during the first half of 2020
