Dryport is being built next to Nagyenyed

Dubai-based DP World is building an intermodal terminal in Transylvania to serve the port of Constanta on land. Several similar facilities are being built on this side of the Hungarian-Romanian border.

The Enyed terminal will provide Transylvanian companies with a fast, direct rail connection to the port of Constanta. According to the investors, those who choose them not only save the environment, but also get it cheaper by replacing road transport with rail-sea transport. And it is no coincidence that car traffic can become safer with the reduction of the number of trucks that cover public roads - read on the KronikaOnline.ro news portal in Cluj. In the Miriszló village near Nagyenyed, in Marosdécs,

in the course of an investment of around 20 million euros, the 82,000-square-meter facility will initially run one rail train transporting containers and truck semi-trailers between Konstanca and Enyed, and they hope to be able to do this every day later.

According to the plans, 50,000 containers will be "moved" annually in the first three years, and no more than 3,000 storage units can be in their warehouse at the same time. The site is located near the A10 highway and the main electrified railway line; There are 11 larger towns and cities with county status within a 100-kilometer radius. According to the representatives of the investing company, the Enyed terminal will provide Transylvanian companies with a fast, direct rail connection to the port of Constanta, and thus to the Black, North and Adriatic Seas. According to their claim, those who choose them not only save the environment, but also get it cheaper by replacing road transport with rail-sea transport. And it is no coincidence that car traffic can become safer by reducing the number of trucks that fill public roads.

The representatives of the global logistics company initially scheduled the completion of the intermodal terminal near Enyed for the first half of this year. However, the post published on the Facebook page of their Romanian company in June of this year already reveals that it will take several more months.

As previously reported, the Nagyenyed center could compete with the intermodal logistics center of PSP Terminal , which is being built on the Hungarian side of the border, near Szeged, in Kiskundorozsma, and on a 4.8-hectare area, 120 craneable and non-craneable semi-trailers, swap bodies or TEU containers and three per day , they will be able to handle a 650-meter train pair consisting of 19 twin cars at peak times, which can transport 38 semi-trailers or the same number of containers. But Metrans' 100,000-square-meter plant in Szeged, which focuses primarily on containers, will also open by 2025 .
