UIP Congress 2007 21/09/07

The next UIP triennial congress will take place on 21st September 2007 in Cannes.

The general theme of this congress is the relaunch of the rail freight. Indeed, 2007 was declared by the European Commission to be the year of rail freight. On 1st January of this year, open access to rail at the European level became a reality. The new EU measures, presented at the end of last year, should revive rail transport by setting aside obstacles all over the European rail network.

The UIRR will be represented by Mr. Muzio (Chairman of UIRR Board of Directors) and Colle (UIRR Director General). Mr. Muzio will actively participate in the 4th Panel related to 'Meeting the Market Needs' moderated by B. Helmke, Editor in Chief DVZ.
