PORT OF GENOA: TEN ADDITIONAL FREIGHT TRAINS PER WEEK

Since the collapse of the Morandi Bridge, the region suffers from restrictions in the transport sector. Now, additional freight trains should remedy the situation.

The Italian state railways are committed to catching the transport restrictions caused by the collapse of the Ponte Morandi in Genoa. Additional freight trains from and to the port of Genoa, which operate weekly, should help to boost the economy in Liguria.

Mercitalia Rail uses ten more trains per week. There are six trains between Genoa VTE (Voltri Terminal Europe) and the Freight Center of Rivaltia Scrivia. Two trains between Genoa VTE and the freight transport center of Padua and two more between Genoa VTE and the terminal of Milano Smistamento. All trains are used to transport sea containers
