Freightliner PL has completed the final technical tests and staff training at the terminals in Sławków and Świnoujście for the transport of non-intermodal semi-trailers between Silesia and Scandinavia.
The service is designed for semi-trailers that do not require intermodal loading techniques, broadening options for road-rail combined transport across this corridor.
The route connects Silesia, a key industrial region in southern Poland, with the port terminal at Świnoujście on the Baltic coast, providing a link to Scandinavian markets. The focus of the terminal preparation has been on adapting infrastructure and operations to allow for handling non-intermodal units efficiently.
Employee training has been carried out to meet the technical and operational requirements associated with this transport type. The announcement follows the completion of practical trials and operational simulations at both locations.
The corridor adds to the available rail freight options connecting Poland and Scandinavia, complementing the existing intermodal routes.
