We are looking for a public Affairs Intern at UIRR


UIRR (International Union for Road-Rail Combined Transport) is seeking a motivated and dynamic Public Affairs Intern to join our team starting from 1 October. This “contrat d’immersion professionnel” internship offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the promotion and advocacy of intermodal freight transport, with a focus on rail and road in the European Union. The ideal candidate has a keen interest in EU legislation, transport policy, and public affairs, and will be eager to gain hands-on experience in an international environment.

Responsibilities

  • Promotion Campaign: Assist in designing and executing the CT4EU 2.0 campaign aimed at promoting intermodal freight transport, highlighting its benefits for the environment and EU’s industry (clean industrial deal)
  • Communication on social media: Assisting in content creation for UIRR’s social media channels to promote intermodal freight transport and engage with our stakeholders.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the team, including scheduling, meeting preparation, and document management.
  • EU Legislation: Support the team in monitoring EU legislation related to rail freight transport and intermodal, and to support the team’s advocacy efforts.
  • Event Organisation: Assist in the organisation of events at the European Parliament and other venues, including coordination with stakeholders, logistics, and promotional activities.

  • Trainee allowances matching Bruxelles-Formation remuneration grid (FR/NL)
  • Full time internship (5 days a week, 39 hours/week, in the office), for 6 months (renewable)

Experience and Skills

The candidate should possess the following:

  • Strong proficiency in English; French or German is a plus
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to details
  • Genuine interest in rail freight/intermodal transportation
  • Experience in using MS Office tools
  • Experience in using LinkedIn, other social media
  • Ability to condense technical information into a digestible format
  • Based in Brussels
  • Previous experience in PR campaign management is a strong plus!
