Samskip, TX Logistik and duisport have started a joint venture to jointly operate the combined transport terminal Logport III in Duisburg. The new entity is called Ziel Terminal, and if approved, it will take over the management of the terminal in the form of a long-term lease by duisport. Currently, the terminal is operated by Samskip Van Dieren Multimodal.

Samskip will hold 49.8 percent of the shares, duisport and TX Logistik each will hold 25.1 percent respectively. The partnership still needs the approval of the European competent authorities, which is expected to arrive in the next few weeks. Duisport CEO Markus Bangen pointed out that the new joint venture will allow for a continuous development of the terminal, creating additional capacity in Duisburg.
