Edict project final conference (live) 11/02/25
< Retour à la liste
Today marked the final conference of EDICT, a major initiative dedicated to improving data exchange and interoperability in Combined Transport across Europe. The event highlighted key achievements that have strengthened the sector’s digital transformation.
A significant step forward was the improved integration of terminal data, including the harmonisation of timestamps, enhanced data exchanges, and the incorporation of terminal information into the RNE TIS system.
In the area of quality management, the project introduced a collaborative quality management system (cQMS) for monitoring regular CT trains, standardising reason codes for delays and cancellations to enhance transparency and efficiency.
End-user innovation also saw notable progress. The CESAR-NEXT application was upgraded to provide more accurate tracking and tracing of intermodal loading units. Seamless data exchange among stakeholders was made possible through easy plugin solutions developed with DXI’s KV4.0 data hub. Additionally, the UIRR Code Data Management website was redesigned and expanded with standardised codes, improving accessibility and usability. The ILU Code website also received an upgrade, now featuring the ILU Tech database to offer more detailed and structured information.
On the regulatory and standardisation side, EDICT contributed to TAF TSI mapping with EDIGES messages, reinforcing a standardised data exchange format for Combined Transport. This alignment with industry standards ensures smoother and more efficient interoperability across the sector.
What is the EDICT Project?
EDICT is an industry-led initiative, co-funded by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and coordinated by UIRR. Over 30 months, with a budget of €3.1 million, the project brought together nine key stakeholders to drive harmonization, standardization, and innovation in intermodal freight by facilitating seamless data exchange between transport stakeholders.
