< Back to list
Today 22 November (11:00 – 12:30), we released the 2024 edition of the ”Report on Combined Transport in Europe” in collaboration with UIC during an online presentation.
This report provides an in-depth analysis of key facts and figures of the European Combined Transport Market and useful insights into its development market environment, policy framework, and economic aspects. For the 2024 edition, UIRR and UIC have commissioned the German consulting firm SCI Verkehr.
Why is Combined Transport important for European Logistics?
As it integrates different transport modes, door-to-door Combined Transport (CT) enables a modal shift towards rail and inland waterways, thus reducing dependency on road transport, significantly lowering the greenhouse gas emissions, easing congestion, and promoting the overall sustainability and competitiveness of freight transport.
Agenda Highlights:
- Introduction by UIC and UIRR
- Presentation of the Report’s findings by SCI-Verkehr
- Feedback and insights from RailNetEurope
- Conclusions by Ralf-Charley Schultze, Director General UIRR
