45 million euros for development of multimodal terminals in Romania 28/04/24

45 million euros are available through the Transport Program 2021-2027 for the development or modernization of terminals and multimodal platforms located on the TEN-T network . Both public and private beneficiaries are eligible for project funding.
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has launched a call for projects aimed at financing the development of multimodal transport infrastructure in Romania.
The total allocation through this call within Priority 7 (P7) Development of naval and multimodal transport is 15 million euros (EU+BS), with a contracting budget limit of 45 million euros.
"Port administrators, private port operators/shipping operators/logistics terminal operators/local authorities or authorities/services that manage intermodal/multimodal terminals, can submit new investment projects for the development of intermodal terminals, with the exception of infrastructure dedicated to the transport of fossil fuels .
The call is of a competitive type for investments in the multimodal transport sector, with the exception of the infrastructure that serves the transport of fossil fuels," a statement from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure states .
The maximum funding available is 11 million euros per project, and the total value of the project cannot exceed 22 million euros.
Eligible projects
Eligible investments within a submitted project will target:
- the construction/modernization of the infrastructure of intermodal and multimodal terminals located on the TEN-T network, including access road and rail infrastructure, railway lines, roads and internal platforms, utilities, fencing;
- activities regarding the development of multimodal logistics centers including Investments in access infrastructure to multimodal logistics centers.
Administrative buildings, warehouses and goods handling equipment are not eligible under this call.
The deadline for submitting projects is October 15, 2024, 11:59 p.m.
