DB Fahrwegdienste leases new Ermewa container wagons for material transport.

In July 2024, the first corridor renewal in Germany will begin: the Riedbahn line, a heavily used connection between Mannheim and Frankfurt, will be completely renewed and will be closed for several months. The schedule is based on detailed planning of extensive construction work by various trades. The availability of rolling stock for the transport of track, ballast and other materials plays an important role.

Thomas Nedwed, Head of Logistics at DB Fahrwegdienste: "We look forward to working with Ermewa. It is important for us to be able to reliably provide DB InfraGO's Riedbahn project with good equipment for transporting supplies and waste to and from the construction site with our containers and modern rolling stock".

Ermewa is supporting this flagship project by leasing a total of 120 Sgnss 60' container wagons and a further 60 Sgmmnss 40' container wagons to DB Fahrwegdienste. The final tranche of six wagons was handed over to DB Fahrwegdienste in Stolberg on 20 June. All the wagons are brand new and come from the Tatrawagonka and Đuro Đaković workshops. They are equipped with GPS sensors and, like all container wagons in the Ermewa fleet, are fitted with K-blocks.

Bernhard Hoffmann, Sales Manager DACH and NL Ermewa: "We are delighted to be involved in the Riedbahn project. With our wagon material we want to make a valuable contribution to the smooth and speedy general overhaul of the infrastructure".

By leasing wagons to DB Fahrwegdienste for the first time, Ermewa is further expanding its long-standing business relationship with DB AG.
