CLIP Terminals takes another step in the development of intermodal transport in Poland

Translated from polish

17.11.2025 | CLIP Terminals has signed an agreement with a consortium of companies consisting of: TorKol (Consortium Leader), Poleko Budownictwo (Consortium Partner) and GFS Engineering (Consortium Partner) for the implementation of the investment entitled "Construction of an intermodal terminal in Zabrze together with the reconstruction and modernization of the arrival and departure track system and accompanying infrastructure in the design and build formula."

  • Contract value: PLN 94,824,407.07 net
  • Completion date: by June 30, 2026.

The work will be carried out as part of the "Construction of an Intermodal Terminal in Zabrze on the EU-Ukraine Corridor" project, co-financed by the National Recovery Plan (KPO). The new terminal in Zabrze will become a key point on the intermodal transport map, strengthening east-west connections and increasing the efficiency of transport on the EU-Ukraine corridor. The investment includes both the construction of modern transshipment infrastructure and the modernization of the track system, which will allow for the handling of more trains and shorter operation times.

"The signing of this agreement is another step in implementing our strategy for the development of intermodal infrastructure in Poland. The Zabrze terminal will be one of the most modern facilities in the region, enabling it to handle the growing volume of transport between the EU and Ukraine. Thanks to KPO support, the investment will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of Polish logistics in the European market, " says Agnieszka Hipś, President of the Management Board of CLIP Group SA.

The Zabrze terminal will support both rail and road transport, enabling efficient container transshipment and reducing logistics operation times. The project is crucial for the region's economy, creating new jobs both during the construction phase and during the terminal's subsequent operation. The development of intermodal infrastructure will increase Upper Silesia's investment attractiveness, supporting local businesses and attracting foreign capital. The terminal will strengthen Poland's position as a key link in the European transport system, which will translate into greater competitiveness for the entire logistics sector.
